He Paoro Taketake is the initial wānanga specifically focused on whakatangitangi taonga pūoro. It aims to provide a foundation for tauira who have started their taonga pūoro journey.
The guiding principles of this wānanga are:
- to explore te ara pūoro with an emphasis on expression ā-wairua
- to explore te ara pūoro with an emphasis on te reo Māori me ōna tikanga and
- to explore te ara pūoro and reconnect to atua, tūpuna and whenua
This Paoro Taketake – Wānanga Pūoro took place in February 2021 on Kapiti Island and was facilitated by Haumanu collective member Tāmihana Katene along with two other kaiako leading practitioners Ruby Solly and Jerome Kavanagh.
